GB Railfreight to run Charity train in aid of Age UK (version anglaise)
On 27 July, GB Railfreight intends to run a Charity Enthusiasts Special from Llandudno to Holyhead and return. The train will be open to members of the public on a “pay on the day” basis, and the train will run as follows:
Llandudno d1325
Llandudno Jcn a1333
Llandudno Jcn d1343
Holyhead a1435
Break
Holyhead d1544
Llandudno Jcn a1636
Llandudno Jcn d1642
Llandudno a1650
The trains will be hauled by Class 20 locomotives, and it is hoped to have up to four involved in the operation however this will be subject to availability.
Tickets will be purchased on board, and the fare is £25. There are 256 seats available and will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Regrettably we cannot offer any part fares, singles, or reductions for children.
There will be a bar on board selling a selection of Real Ale and Cider, proceeds from which will also go to Charity.
We politely ask that you don’t contact GB Railfreight directly regarding this train, simply turn up on the day.
GB Railfreight will do everything it can to run these trains with the advertised locmotives, but reserves the right to cancel or amend the train for unforeseen operational reasons.
Dale Williams, organiser of the Charity Train, said:
“We trialed a charity train last year and it proved extremely popular, raising more than £5,000 for Age UK. I’m pleased that we are able to repeat this initiative and look forward to the day. Hopefully the weather will hold out for us”.
